Root canal treatment is a procedure in which the infected pulp tissue inside the tooth is removed and the root canals are cleaned and filled.

During the treatment, the inside of the tooth is opened, the infected tissue is removed, and the root canals are disinfected and filled with a special material. After the procedure, the tooth is typically restored with a filling or a crown.
