Root Canal Treatment

What Is Root Canal Treatment?

Root canal treatment is a procedure in which the infected pulp tissue inside the tooth is removed and the root canals are cleaned and filled.

When the pulp becomes inflamed due to decay, trauma, or gum disease, it can cause pain and sensitivity. During the treatment, the inside of the tooth is opened, the infected tissue is removed, and the root canals are disinfected and filled with a special material. After the procedure, the tooth is typically restored with a filling or a crown.

Root canal treatment preserves the tooth, prevents its loss, and allows it to maintain its natural function.
